I remember going to work in one of the company's other offices once, and stopping to pay attention to what I thought was an imminent announcement, simply because of the force with which somebody several desks away was stirring his tea. :D

The local children have just been kicking the ball about in the street again. After it hit a car, a van and large bush (several times, deliberately), it inevitably went astray and right across my front lawn, narrowly missing the new rose plant given to us as an engagement present. I stormed to the front door, but by the time I'd opened it the miscreants had hid. Not five minutes later they were back out again, and again a stray kick went into my garden. This time I was out of the door in time, to be met by a feeble "Sorry", and all I could think of saying was an exasperated "Why can't you go and play somewhere else instead of other people's gardens?". Just like Helegant I hate confrontation, but I can't do nothing and let them think it's acceptable.

[As someone who will lick hot chocolate foam off the inside of the lid if nobody's looking in my direction, I'm not one to judge anyone else's attempts to make the most of their yoghurts...]

I'm betting they have nowhere else to go, Charlie. Our nearest parks are both about a mile away and most parents round here won't let their kids go there by themselves so when I was in charge of the allotments I took down the 'no ball games' sign and ignored the codgers complaining about occasional balls going over the gate. Yes it was moderately annoying but kids need space to play, and streets should be for them as much as for parking lumps of metal...

The a***hole who smokes in the back of my biology lectures. Every. Single. Bloody. Session.
And the utter muppets who think the fag stench is coming in through the air conditioning, despite the fact that it originates from one particular set of seats where one particular group sits, and that lecture theatre never ever smells before that group arrives or after it leaves (and I'm pretty sure there is neither air conditioning nor ventilation of any sort in there anyway).

There's a playing field less than five minutes' walk away within the estate, complete with goalposts, which presumably they're not allowed to go to because there's a paedophile lurking behind every corner. Every house also has a huge back garden, but it seems that they're far too precious - why risk your own garden getting damaged when you can run roughshod over other people's?

Wilful ditziness in the workplace. I can't summon up a sense of humour about it today.

All the best footballers started on the street...Charlton, Moore, Hunt, Perry Groves....think of it as laying down the future of the national team.

So I should actually be thinking of them as the next generation of millionaire sex pests?
