The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

I have worked with someone who does that RS; it is, indeed, weird. An patronising as she then feels the need to explain it to me. WTAF?

A friend's wife tends to answer personal questions addressed to me about my family, for example, even while I am standing there in the middle of the conversation. I'm sure they would hate it if I did it to them.

People who think that they're Sherlock Holmes or the chap out of the 'The Mentalist.'

e.g. there's a missing person case going on - the authorities / family put out cctv pictures of the individual and potential witnesses.

Immediately message boards are filled up with people who can read things into the activities of those in the pictures, can see things 'that maybe the police haven't picked up on' or suggest motives for actions that they have no credible evidence for whatsoever.

Listening to my wife trying to stop talking to her mum on the phone, when the reason she wants to terminate the call is so that she can go and visit, but the old lady is convinced that my wife will neglect her so prolongs the call.
