Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have place in sundays worlds longest marathon. In fact I had a place last year but CBA so held over to this year.

Now to say my traininhg has been pants is an understatement. I did sod all running at back end of last year then just got going this year and had to have 2 and a half weeks out about 5 weeks ago as I manged to run into a parked car. ( ok now) I'm also about half a stone over my normal fighting weight. Oh and My mum has told me not to run it as she worries about me ( I'm 46)

On the other hand I've run 5 or 6 marathons in the past - I've done a few 20ish milers without to much bother and I'm a proud londoner who thinks that the day of the London Marthon is londons best day orf the year. Also Paula is running it and she's brilliant and i want to have the chance to say I've run in the same race as her.

PB is 3:32 PB but plan would be to run around in about 4:15 - 4:30 high fiving, grinning and generally hopefully enjoying myself.

Any views.

Any suggestions - i've cchnage dby mind about 5 or 6 times (a day)

Go for it - it would be a shame to waste the place as they are so hard to come by. Just enjoy it - your plan sounds like a good one.

I would do it. As said before, these places are so hard to come by that it would be a shame to waste it. Even if you have to resort to a run/walk towards the mid - late section so that you look strong at the finish.

I agree - do it. It is great fun to run this race without the pressure of going for a fast time. Make the most of the experience.

get out there and enjoy it. If you've done "a few" 20 milers you should be reasonably okay.
