Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The longest list I can find is 10 types of adjectives dictionary.cambridge.org . I think it would be a struggle to come up with many more categories than that.

I do like Mark Forsyth's books.

I found a list with nine. If you count determiners/quantifiers as adjectives you can add that on the front, e.g., «The one remaining … whittling knife …»

I was taught that order of adjectives in German is the same as in English I wonder if that's still true with 10 categories. And how other languages' rules compare.

I've seen it said that French has the opposite order to English, but I don't know whether that's true. Also that Spanish doesn't really care about the order.

Adjectives that change their meaning depending on whether they come before or after the noun add another level of fun.(ancient in French, for example)
