Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I was in Worcester for the day yesterday, as OH was at a conference, so I travelled up with her to have a look around, having never been before. There is what they call a Swan Sanctuary, which I wasn’t aware of. These birds are wild birds, and the stretch of the river is open for any bird to come and go as they want, but they obviously quite like it there. It’s very close to the centre of the city, just a 5min walk or so.

I think they must be quite sociable birds. There are often groups of 40 to 50 birds round the islands at my end of Lough Erne.

No picture - but a red admiral woke up in the village hall panto and ended up with a starring role.

There was a group of 8 fairly mature bucks. They couldn't really have cared less that I was slowly following them, and as you can see, gave me fairly disdainful looks if I did encroach too close.

Although the low sun and shade in the woods made things a bit tricky.
Full set (about 100 out of 400 pics) will be in my blog in a day or two.
Although my fingers were frozen, much of the focus and shooting was happening too soon because I couldn't feel the shutter button.

There is a wildflower thread but is there one for wild animals?
