Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Oh I've used bread mix beyond the best before date many times and I've never really noticed a problem - maybe slightly heavier bread than anticipated but only very slightly!

Under the bed in ‘my’ room at my parent’s house (yes I still need my room there. My house might...fall down and I might need to go back) there are still piles of my teen magazines from the ‘90s. I suppose I should go and throw them out, but I can’t currently!

For magazine reading without the clutter I recommend Readly - it’s about £10 a month and there are LOADS of titles. It’s not the same as having the physical magazine but it’s good if you want to try out new ones (back issues are available too).

You lot make me feel very fashionably minimalist. I didn't even keep the trade journals that had my articles published in them. I do have the copy of Outdoor Fitness featuring eL Bee!. Cyclist was quite pretty and I kept the first sixty-odd issues, then stopped getting new issues because it was repetitive and full of adverts, and threw out the collection a couple of years after that because I didn't think the space they took up was justified by their future historical interest. And also, if I want to look back on them in 2040 I'll be able to snaffle a set from a destasher.

I can't remember the last time I read a magazine. My library app keeps sticking GQ in my checked out items every month and I delete it straight away. I have never read GQ, let alone requested it.

The yeast in the bread mix might have lost its power to rise the bread. Soon remedied by adding a tea spoon of dried yeast.

Or, in your case, you might get slightly less airy bread.

Looking good - will give a few mins more. Ideally probably need a few mins in the oven to brown but CBA! I have a turbo session at 12!

Yeah, if you want them brown, oven, bit of water or egg white over the top. But hey, they look very good!

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
