Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Rory’s always more barky in the spring and summer. I assume it’s because there are more birds and small animals around, and people take their dogs out more. At the moment EVERYONE is walking their dog past my living room window, which causes problems if it’s one of the ‘Dogs Rory Irrationally Dislikes’ (Pointer, yellow Lab called Merlin, yellow and black Labs from the same family, two big Lab crosses who’s owner runs past with them about 6.45 each morning.)

We have done so much to watch where the blackbirds' nest is in our garden in order to prepare for the week of needing to keep Wanda in for the second brood which we suspected was imminent. This morning I could hear a huge amount of very agitated blackbird noise going on and was worried I'd let Wanda out without realising they'd fledged - but sadly no, she was in her bed and a magpie then emerged from where the nest is :-( I know it's nature but they are b*****ds. It's not like there isn't enough bird food to go round in ours and every neighbouring garden.

I knew I had a photo of Flossie with her 'social distancing' stick somewhere. This was her on a walk on 31st December 2019. We laughed at her then, but we're not laughing now! (Well, we are really ;-) )

Even better, if you do get too close, you get a smack on the back of your knees to remind you :-)

Just wanted to share two doggy photos from the weekend.

We went out for a pootle and a picnic in the kit car yesterday. George came too - he loves being out in that car:

This one is my eldest and Poppy. It was cupboard love because E had just finished a lolly and Poppy wanted the stick but it's still a lovely pic:

Our baby Bel seems to enjoy the new pond, we'll make a water dog of her yet :)
We've taken her for a dip in deeper water a couple of times and she hasn't quite made up her mind. She'll bound in to armpit height, and if we pick her up and take her deeper she'll paddle around quite happily but is a bit nervous about the transition from standing to floating.

I love all those photos but I think the one of George is my favourite - you can almost see the excitement in bubbles above his head :-)
