Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have one MTB and one only - a fat bike will appear if I live in Canada or the arctic but not before.

Did just shy of 2hrs today and given I'm only just getting back on the bike again very surprised with how smooth I was.

Can't see the point of fat bikes unless you ride on sand or snow.

They *are* an acquired taste - and not being evangelical, I really don't mind whether you acquire it or not ๐Ÿ˜Š

For me the point is... that they are incredibly forgiving and flattering: you don't need any skill to ride one off road, no finesse and no need to pick a line ๐Ÿ˜œThe grip and sure-footedness takes care of all that. Although I often think good legs would be useful...

Horses for courses I s'pose. First go riding one today and that was all it took - I'm hooked.
All I have to compare it to is my hardtail, which I love. It's unforgiving, and requires me to be 'on it' all the time. But I do love riding it.

The FAT is completely different, it took the 'worry factor' away from MTBing allowing me to relax (well, not on the uphills) and just enjoy cruising down the trails. It's not better or worse than the hardtail - just different; and I really hope Mr Jubear lets me borrow it again ;)
