Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

If you've suffered a blow to the helmet, get a new one!

I bet you're glad you were wearing it in the first place...

Glad to hear you're ok. I'll add my 'yes please buy yourself a new helmet' in agreement with the others.

glad you're ok. ALWAYS replace the helmet if it has had any bash at all. it's better to buy a new helmet than end up in A & E!

Ok, wise ones, this has just happened again, going down hill, 45km front wheel starts wobbling, and I end up in a bush .

I'm a bit more bruised this time and at least the bike didn't need fixing,

However now concerned about the bike and whether it's safe, there are some hills on the Austria race which are likely to be a bit bigger than the ones I have been doing

Already bought the new helmet, but with four weeks to go to my race what do I do? New bike, lead weights, new wheels, or just ride the breaks all the way down ? Any suggestions welcome

Sorry to hear about the accident SAB. I suggest you consult a mechanic at your LBS. Switching your forks might be a more cost effective solution than changing the bike. What sort of bike are you riding?

Definitely get the bike checked out.

Also I see you've already replaced the helmet, but some manufacturers do a crash replacement policy.
