Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have a pack of the Mountain Berry ones that I'm not going to use. If anyone wants them, let me know. I'd rather they went to a good home than languish in my kitchen.

I like Shot Bloks. But I've never got on with gels and have always preferred to suck sweeties when running (people who think they haven't enough saliva to manage Shot Bloks and sweeties should stop that disgusting spitty-spitty-spitty habit and then they'd have plenty). I have managed to make one last for over ten miles in a hard race :)

Shot Blocks are excellent for long slow runs and ultras. I don't get on with gels and tbh don't believe in them but have found SBs to give me a real lift when I'm tired and fed up of 'proper food' on LDWAs events, ultra-marathons etc

I am trying these tomorrow on my long run will report back on them as a usual gel user. ( I am actually using them in conjunction with gels and water).

Lol. I meant a couple of shot blocks to replace a gel, then a gel. Not them all.

Perhaps I should have made it clearer.

I love them. I ususally have chocolate and cereal bars as it's just cheaper, but for really long runs and races, I like a combination of sweets, "real" food, gels and shot bloks. I just pop a shot blok in my mouth whenever I feel I'm running a bit low on sugar, and I just wait for them to dissolve, so don't need much water with them. When I need an instant push, I have a gel instead.

Tried them yesterday. Had 4 on a 13-14 miler. A lot easier to stomach than Gels and I only needed 500ml water.

Very nice they taste too.
