I'm out this month - sore hamstrings. Probably shouldn't have done yesterday either!

That’s a shame MisterTea, hope your hamstrings recover quickly.
I found this morning quite tough (possibly because I’d normally run later in the day, but was trying to avoid the bad weather due later) - hats of to those of you doing the imperial version, I couldn’t have faced running 10 miles today.

I second that Jenny. My 10k was really tiresome and tiring. I can't believe that once upon a time I ran a sub 55 minute 10k. Even sub 60 minutes seems like a distant memory these days

Just back from my ten miler on the trails and fellside - it struck that very fine balance between great fun and bloody awful. Still in and an easy couple of days ahead though so all good
And GWS MisterTea

Sorry to hear you're out MisterTea - hope the hamstring heals quickly!
UUrrggghhh - that was tough! My 10-miler tipped over towards bloody awful, tbh... I was over-dressed and much too hot. Only a few bursts of very welcome rain and a bit breezy - so the weather was no problem. Really looking forward to a cut back day tomorrow.

Me too Jenni-f-f - managed to get my 2k in before the rain hit this morning.
Hope the hamstrings are feeling better now MisterTea.
LD, I dread to think what my 10K time would be like now! I remember at the end of the 2019 Swansea 10K (which is a nice flat, fast course) being gutted that my time was 4 minutes slower than the previous year, and not much under 50 minutes. I’d kill for a time starting with a 4 now, and think I’d probably struggle to do much under 60 minutes at the moment.

Sorry to hear about the injury Mister Tea.
Managed to get my 2k in despite the weather. Must admit that I am just concentrating on the distances rather than times for this month. Never done RtS before so self preservation is my main aim!

I took a load of stuff to the tip this morning (essential-ish journey so we can get in and out of the back lobby without tripping over things like a dead chainsaw that was in there ) and took the opportunity to run my 2k over the parkrun course on the other side of town. (I've been staying very local for all my runs in this lockdown, which has got a bit tiresome.) All I can say is, if parkrun was happening right now, we'd have to cancel because of the state of the paths and grass! So slippery and muddy, and the lake we run around is having its banks reinforced with what look like giant coir and branch sausages!
