This has prob been done to death, but does anyone find that it seems to be easier to Pose (or run more efficiently, smoother, feels less jarring, fewer injuries, better flow, however you want to describe that "good" feeling) when running faster rather than at slower speeds? Is this just totally obvious (because faster tends to equal more lean, quicker feet etc.)?
An interesting (well to me at least) parallel with swimming. I was doing a longer swim (2.1km) which I usually break into chunks of slow and fast and the fast felt like better "form" than the slow and hence almost easier. I tried holding the fast technique for longer and not slowing down to rest and I took 3 mins off my time and felt less out of breath at the end. Probably irrelevant to Pose and running, but just thought I'd share! :-)G

GR- I'm not generalising, I'm pointing out that without guidance(coach, book, whatever) changing shoes alone is likely to result in injury for some.
Don't get me wrong, I love my inov8s , but i don't think a transition shoe alone is the answer.
I dont buy shoes unless I speak to someone on here about them.

BVR I agree - a good shoe does not translate into a good runner but a good runner can make a shoe look good-as CT says it's the man (or woman) not the shoe!
Happy I much prefer to run fast but master good form at slow speed and you will enjoy fast flowing running even more;-)

I agree with what Glenn said: "IMHO the advice to make sure your foot lands under the body, with slightly soft knees, and whatever you do don't push off is sufficient as a starting point. The more complex stuff can come later."

How many people have you seen running without bent knee landing under hip and pushing off swearing blind they 'think' they are landing on bent knee with foot under hip?
The advice is ok as a start point but not always easy for someone to 'get' without a watchful eye.

Having watched my own attempts on video at the recent clinic, I wholeheartedly second that.
