I've ordered one from pimoroni and am looking forward to learning more about it. The size, price, power consumption, ability to run Micropython and level of support make it look like a useful and powerful alternative to the Arduino.

Interesting that they didn’t include Wi-Fi capability (like the various ESP8266 boards) considering how big a thing the Internet of Things is likely to be for their customer base. Almost everything that I’ve automated in my house takes instructions from, or sends results to, another device.

I have the Python script to control the relay, but not sure whether I'll be able to set up a cron job on this. Any ideas? I guess the other alternative is just to run an infinite loop that includes a time check.
