Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I concur with Rich - looks like there are specific local issues in Enniskillen.

Ours at Fell Foot Park is also a NT venue. There is no entry fee to use the park and the local management currently waive the car parking fees for parkrunners on Saturday morning (this, understandably, is subject to regular review but there's no short term plan to change the policy). We have an excellent relationship with the local NT team - it probably helps that our ED is one of their volunteers - and they love having us there. There's no doubt we do cause wear and tear in some areas but our presence helped the NT secure a Sport England grant to fix some of the worst problems and the extra income we put into the cafe also helps offset any downside. There's even a suggestion that the NT Rangers want to do a volunteer takeover one week so that the whole core team can run together for a change.

There are some conservation issues peculiar to Enniskillen, I think. It's something that all NT parkruns have to have constantly in mind. We run through special places and we have to make sure that they remain special for the future.

Haven't seen it mentioned here, but Tilgate Parkrun had a surprise appearance by Dame Kelly Holmes last Saturday. Not a low key visit either from what I read. Wasn't there myself.
She finished 29th with a time of 21:23. So some runners had the honour of beating a double Olympic champion :)
