Oooh, that's interesting island. Thanks for that fillip. Right enough, I often feel as I get to end of a length I'm just starting to pull properly then it's over! My turns aren't quick either - tried learning tumble turns and nearly made myself sick doing so! :-)G

Avoid tumble turns by only entering open water events. Simples.

Hills of Death (HOD)
Easy
Step 1 foward roll in water Step 2 blow bubbles out your nose Step 3 kick your heels of the back doesn't matter if your on side or float up maybe take a breath then carry on.
Hardest bit is deciding when to have your breath before the turn

~sigh~ Behave, HoDder, you are confusing people.
*note* over on 'Smell' people tend to get killed frequently, often fatally, or even 'killed to death'. Nobody yet has been 'fatally killed to death' though. Except Legless, and he made a full recovery.

What is advice on whether I should learn to tumble turn before my first tri (in outdoor pool) in May?
I had a nightmare last night about putting my face in the dirty water at Lakeside...I blame Holgs' book and his talk of amoeba and crocodiles in the water, combined with gagging on those gels yesterday. What about ear plugs and nose clips too?
