MDS - Marathon Des Sables

I have a place for 2013 and looking to share training advice, perhaps a few long runs and see who is doing what and how they are preparing. This includes what kit to buy, what rucksack, what shoes and anything to do with Marathon Des Sables. And most welcome are those that have done it already that may have some invaluable advice for newbies. So to kick off, I have used P&D Advanced Marathoning for my marathon training schedule. Now I am upping the distance are there any training plans for an Ultra?

That said you did it and endured a lot of pain. Perhaps you underestimate your abilities co mpared to average jo. Great write up though and good to read an alternative view. I also heard about that year in an episode of talk ultra....weather probably put a dampner on it:-).
