fetcheveryone May 2019 5:52pm, 5 May 2019 21,798 posts	Quote Pin fetcheveryone The way things are set up, when you view any forum page, it would send a follow-up request to the server that said "tell me about the likes on this page". So purely in terms of the number of server requests, it was doubling the traffic. It's not as 'heavy' a request as viewing a page, but when coupled with the low usage, it felt like a good win to remove it. To give you an idea of usage, our forum has accumulated 4.2 million posts (admittedly over a longer time than we've had 'likes' in place), but those posts have only accumulated 89,000 likes. Perhaps a better thing would be to look at the 1000 most recent threads. They've seen 123k posts, and less than 10k likes - the figure is approx 7.8% of posts have attracted a like. Therefore, I decided it wasn't widely used.
