Race today - Multi Terrain at Wendover - 5.13 miles in 40:20 or something like that - see below cut from log
Time is a guesstimate as I forgot to stop watch at finish. Was more concerned about not ploughing through the line of people waiting for a medal, as finish speed was a bit QUICK!!!
A lovely day - sun out, chilly, though perfect for racing. Course was beautiful, when I managed to look around. see full race report.
To the guy in the first mile: ... There was a lady in a St Albans Striders vest in front of me whilst going up hill. The guy shouts out - 'Are you from St Albans?' - No answer. He tries again, getting closer to her ''Are you from St Albans?' - No answer again. By this point most people might get the message. Third time - this time right next to her- 'Are you from St Albans? I'm doing the 10 mile race there next week, do you know where the start is?' What an eejit! You are lucky you did not get a slap!! Poor woman, in the zone, uphill, racing and some bloke shouts to you about something that they could find out from the race website. Well done for just keeping going.
I LOVED this race
Hot Chocolate from the flask and some Blueberry cookies (ok just the one) that I took with me - lovely

8.15 miles in pretty much perfect weather apart from a bit of breeze.
This run completed a record number of miles in the week for me......27.5 ish from 5 runs.
I really do have the bug :):):)

SM - I train in Wendover Woods at least once a week and was there on thursday this week. Glad you enjoyed it! Hot local news was this week that some dog walkers found a human skull in the central "bowl" at WW. On thursday there were large sections cordoned off and coppers hiding in cars around the place - any evidence of that?

Coffeeman - no, they had finished their work there luckily and race was able to go ahead on the original course. They announced it at the start - I did not catch exactly what the reason was. Got back and saw the notice on the website - a bit creepy.
Lovely weather and great suroundings too. I'll be going back again in the near future no doubt - well worth the 30 min drive to get there.

Two laps of Richmond Park for me, with two rather quick mates of mine. I've only ever run in RP when really fit in the weeks leading up to a marathon. I'm two weeks into training this time round and boy oh boy it's tough in there. 14.6 miles in just under 2 hours. Wonderful weather, and good conversation. The second lap we turned around and did it clockwise, which IMHO is a lot tougher than anti-clockwise. We also ran the second lap about 30s / mile quicker, and I suffered on the hills a bit.
Anyway, it's pretty good to be doing hilly 15 milers only 2 weeks into marathon training, so I'm happy

Non-existent. Session scrapped, as too knackered.
