Have they got an elliptical running machine thingy ? I used that while my shins were healing as it's impact-free and it feels a lot more like running than the stepper !

I do. I have just learned to live with it. It's not ideal but I have found that 2 weeks rest will get rid of the pain, and if I just run alternate days, and religously ice or ice bath straight after then I can stay relatively pain free. As soon as I start to run 5 days a week the splints come back. So I just live with it. Not the best thing to do I know.

It's just the way it is DW. I don't suffer as badly as I used to as i'm getting stronger but it would be nice to do regular runs without the pain.

You can also burn a shedload of calories on that machine - I burned more there than on the treadie I'm not implying that you need to though

From personal experience JJ I think you'll find that as you get stronger the pain will ease and eventually disappear. You've obviously got all the right kit.
