Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Now then Flip, it's all good here. Just getting ready to set off to Wales for Pembroke tomorrow. Yep, she's slowly but surely coming over to the way of the marathon & ultra. Mind you saying that, N talked me into doing the Kent Ultra. I wouldn't mind but i've ended up doing 4 ultras that month!!!!!
How's the training for the Highland Fling? 53 miler going?

Not today but I'll tell you anyway.

13 miles, feeling a bit tired, 5 to go. I come across a woman with a wet labrador that's just been in the river. It starts jumping up on me, I shout "get the bloody thing off". I whack it's back really hard - I think it thinks I am playing. "Stop running", she says. "Just get the bloody thing off me" I shout again. Eventually the dog gives up and I jog home with "dog hand" all the way. It doesn't half pi$$ me off when this happens. These doggy people would have something to say if I jumped in the river then jumped all over them, trying to lick their faces or copulate with their legs.

Calm.....

Surprisingly good in the circumstances - I'd had a 5-hr Atrial Fibrillation episode from 4am this morning, and was still feeling the after effects. But ran fairly strongly, and beat my expected time by over a minute !

Nearly 14 miles over and back a few times on our only hill, hard work but set up for a brisk lie down this afternoon.
