Hi I have a charity treadmill marathon ion Sunday and I have cut my mileage this week so I did 9 on Mon and upper body weights, 7 yesterday and no weights, today I would normally do upper body weights again and was thinking of doing 5 miles then 3 miles tomorrow and nothing except a walk. Does this sound sensible bearing in mind thatI did TR24 on the 28th/29th July which was my last LR. All the taper advice I have read is conflicting so just wondered what others think/would do?

Cheers WD

Same intensity, cut the volume. Two days off before the race- but I usually do something very gentle the day before, just to stay loose.

I usually have two days of before. I usually have 1 rest day before a race and figure a marathon's worth 2.

at least two days off, in fact week leading up to race do very little, your body needs rest and to build up energy stores it's too late to add stamina or muscle
