this is my 1st issue with 10 - given this is how windows is going (updates of 10 now) it seemed a sensible thing to do.

Don't go to 8, stay at 7 or go to 10. 8 is horrible embarrassing screw up that should never have happened, should have been smothered at birth and shortly it will come close to automatically updating to 10 if not careful. 10 is to 8, what 7 was to Vista (all the things it should have been in the first place).

I'm as sceptical as the next person about M$ but no complaints whatsoever about Windows 10, it would appear that they took out all the horrible bits that were in 8

Badger's post on the previous page is the critical one - browser support for plugins is coming to an end. FWIW I rather liked Windows 8.1. It makes a lot more sense once you see it on a phone or tablet. |

Windows 10 looks more like the finished product, Windows 8 was a fricking joke...oh, and if you can afford it I can definitely recommend the Surface Pro 4. It's my 'go to' device. I use it every day for email, work, coaching stuff, browsing and entertainment. A quality product...

I actually think that 8.1 is better suited to tablets and phones than 10. Those of us who use Windows phones are a bit nervous about the impending 'upgrade'. Fortunately Microsoft have, predictably, failed to get their act together so far.

you do know you can easily switch between standard and tablet modes in Windows 10?

10 does take some getting used to, but it's not so bad.
