Thanks, that's what I thought
I'll have to live with it and run next to someone else with a Garmin to find out when each mile has clicked over

if it's stopped beeping the next stage is it stops working!
I'd phone Garmin support as this is a recognised issue. I got mine swapped out f.o.c. on the basis that it was a known fault and hence not fit for purpose. had a bit of a battle but they gave in in the end

Auto lap is the beep, alerts is the other noise. Took me a while to figure out why mine did both, but found it and switched of the alerts.

anyone had any luck getting a new strap out of Garmin? Theyre on ebay/amazon for about £15 which isnt that much, however, Ive only had my 305 just under 18 months. Nae too happy that its bust (the rubber has complete parted along the seam where the fastner attaches. Not even fudgable-fixable)

Ta for advice on the beeps vs ding-a-lings Autolap on and distance alerts on but the latter are set to repeat now, so one tone is consistent.

Thanks Flanker, I'll try support - as you say it appears that the product isn't fit for purpose, if it allows sweat in, unless ofcourse you're not supposed to sweat whilst running

Any suggestions. Just plugged my Garmin into the work computer and am just getting a blank screen - no Garmin charging written on front. Haven't tried it on home laptop yet though

I've been seeing this increasingly lately - or the other annoying alternative, of the Garmin switching on when I put it on the cradle. I'm not totally sure if this is the problem, but it does seem to behave better if I clean up the contacts on the back of the watch before setting it on the cradle.
