I know the Garmin takes pace into account aswell .. if you do 1 mile slow and then 1 mile fast .. the faster mile will burn more calories according to the Garmin..

the garmin estimates are pretty much in line with fetch, sporttracks and most treadies, so I guess there is a commonly accepted formula.
pace defintely does come into the garmin calcs as well as distance

I don't think the fetch estimates take pace into account though...recently I done 3 5 mile runs - 1hr, 54mins, and 46mins .. all with same amount calories burnt according to fetch...

It sounds like it needs a soft reset - press mode and reset buttons at the same time and then try switching it on.

I want mine to make a noise and tell me the time after each mile lap, but tried and failed, 1. it's silent and 2 it only say's ''distance alert''. I got it once but lost it again.

TJ, it sounds like your audible bleep has gone tits up. does it make any sound at all? Even when switching on/off?
