Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Good training going on: well done to GM and Geo.

My 12 mile LR became a L slow run. Really struggled at the end and very far from Furman pace. I was tired today probably as a consequence of yesterday's beastly 2hr conditioning session in Taekwondo.

Still, 12 miles is the longest I have run since the GNR in September; I am a distance lightweight, really.

Looking good for marathon after a 1.24.51 at Bideford Half for me today. Would like to say it was Furman, but since becoming a postie in November, my running has taken a huge nosedive. It seems that walking for 5 hrs a day 5 times a week at a brisk pace, carrying a bag of letters really improves the aerobic systems. Managing most long runs & have done 1 or 2 tempos & a bit of bikewor

bikework, probably best to take me off the sidebar, although I'm still desperate for sub 3.

Great time for a half - you'd certainly be close to sub 3 shape with that kind of time. Perhaps we should start a Postie Plan marathon training thread?! Best of luck with ongoing training. :-) G

Five mile tempo yesterday. Splits: 7:00 7:01 6:58 6:50 6:44

Felt very much at the comfortable end of "uncomfortable". I wasn't sure how fast to run and ended up between Furman MT and LT paces. Main thing is, I felt as if I could haven continued for much longer with ease.

That looks good to me, des. What pace were you aiming for?
Frosty mornings have scuppered this week's sessions so far so I'm aiming for an early finish from school today so I can do some intervals. I've got a 10k race on Sunday which I'll take to be the tempo session and then the LR (7 miles) will have to be dropped if Friday doesn't work out how I'm hoping.

I've not been in a position to FIRST since the marathon, just been running in the 'grey' zone.

Will get back on the FIRST wagon after my Half-Marathon in just over a week.

Anything over 1:40 and I will be gutted and give up running :(

Lol. Well, it made me laugh: "give up running" indeed! I'm astonished that you can do such good 10K, half and marathon times when you are doing dozens of marathons a year. I did one on Sunday, possibly one of only 3 or 4 long races this year and I feel wiped out! :-) G

Great time at Bideford SC. If you found the tempo comfortable it sounds like you can push it a bit with the pace des!

4 x 1,200 at intervals last night, all within 6.07-6.05. Was really pleased til I looked at my plan and saw I should have been targeting 5.59 :( Will always check my plan before the session in future! Swimming tonight :)
