Cats are weird, that’s why we love them.

I have also looked but decided it wouldn’t be fair on Merlin. I’ll let him live out the rest of his days in peace even if Shelby sometimes doesn’t.

ITG - I totally agree with your sentiment about abandoned cats. (Grrrr!) I also agree with a break to allow you to grieve. Easier said than done sometimes though - we took the plunge to soon to fill a cat-shaped hole and, although we love our two, they could never replace our old cat.
