Another vote for Compressport calf guards here. I only wear mine for recovery after long runs of I feel any tightness, and they're ace. From memory they have a size guide on the website.

Is that a general statement Nick? I mean, are we talking about the diaphanous/denier variety here? If so, I agree :-)

Seriously though, I've taken to wearing compression socks on longer races and they *do* seem to help hold off the onset of cramp a bit, I've struggled with this in the past. One thing that is a bit of a problem is that they (compression socks) are not so good when it's wet - longer off-road events for example - and your feet get soaked, it was in exactly these circumstances that I got a very rare blister.

Anyhow, I've bought some Red Venom calf guards and will be trying them out this weekend along with my normal socks - hopefully that should be problem solved :-)

Was there some deal were we got 5% (or something) off the Red Venom stuff? Or did I dream that?

No you didn't dream it. Doesn't it say the 5% discount code on the ad on the front page. I got it anyhow!

I never wear tights when running, no matter how cold. Must be from winter rugby training when I was younger. You had to be 'ard!! If it's really, really, really cold, I sometimes wear them cycling, but running, never!!

My calf guards are Red Venom too!

The ad wasn't on my screen, thanks. Compiling a short list before I go shopping :-)
