Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Agree with you about the new Deep Purple lp. Really not my thing but impressed with what I’ve heard

Not the slightest taint of nostalgia either.

I’ll try that out based on such recommendations.
I was a very keen Deep Purple fan in the 70s but rarely give their new material a bother these days.
Having seen them on a BBC Sounds stage special a while ago I squirmed seeing Ian Gillan being a living parody of a 70s rock star.

Ditto for the first two paragraphs. I’ll try it.

I remember being blown away by Made in Japan first time I heard it. In my defence I was very young at the time.

They were responsible for some of yhe most revolting lyrics in the history of modern music, mind. This from Highway Star:

I love her
I need her
I seed her
Yeah she turns me on

I always assumed that was just poor grammar. As in “I seed her the other day, in town”....

No?

Not forgetting Knocking At Your Back Door where:

Sweet Nancy was put on the hit list of a common, cunning linguist, a master of many tongues.
