The Scribbler
I could hug you all. I am so enjoying reading these.
I never expected that a running site would nourish my own writing, but almost as soon as I landed here, I found great writers of blog posts and have enjoyed many hours of reading about your experiences.
I think writing and reading is the great love of my life, but it took running to bring me back to it after I'd struggled and neglected it for a while. This place, with its gentle support, and the kindness of (almost) strangers gave me a place and purpose for my writing when I needed it.
So thank you, for playing along with my little game. I really hope you're getting something out of it too as I love sharing the warmth and joy of creative experiences.
I'm off travelling soon, so may not be around as regularly to shout hurrah, well done, or comment on your 100 Running Words posts, but I will catch up with them all eventually.
Keep running and writing and (in the words of Bill and Ted) be excellent to each other.

Here goes.....
The Pant(H)er
Call Emergency services! There is a heavy breather behind me in this pacey 10K race and he sounds in distress. Is he ok? “Hawooooocrook”, the sound persists at my heels like a continual fight against our earth’s atmosphere. Like he is drawing breath from the bottom of his shoes up through a thin pipe that is squished tight in several places. Why doesn’t he stop? Surely he is not well? Suddenly he overtakes using long strong strides. I watch in amusement as other athletes startle as he goes past, their arms and legs flying out in all directions – the pant(h)er!

Birgibee, I just popped on here to point people at your 100-word blog entry in case they didn't notice it under the other one you posted today. I love it
