Finished 6th / 2nd Santa / 1st vet. Well done to all those Santa suited runners!
Got close to my 36 minute target with 36:10 for 9th place. Just failed to hang on for 7th place in the final 800 metres or so.
Pretty tough run, especially at the end of the loop where there was just a long line of people walking up the steep hill to rejoin the main track! Good conditions and well organised by Fife AC with the usual great spread afterwards, although the "obligatory" Santa suits were a bit worrying. Nice to see ClaireT again and Debstir introduced herself at the start as well :-)
A good well organised wee race over a tough course. The hill at 3.5 miles was almost vertical reducing most runners to walking/climbing. Finished 23rd.
That was probably the single most hardest race I've run in a long time! Very 'undulating', just before the 4m mark there was the most horrendous hill ever, thought I was going to need oxygen at the top of it! My foot just about held up through the race, aching now though so got the bottle of frozen water out!
I didn't learn from last year and set off too fast again. Or at least it felt that way as the first half is mainly uphill. Tough course but a nice change from the roads, and knocked 1 min off my time. Quite bizzarre to see so many Santas running through the forest, and discarded suits along the course. Myself and IanS chickened out but managed to wear the hat.
First time doing this race and it was really enjoyable though tough, and for the first time in my life I had to walk in a race - nightmare!! Finished 48 out of 143.
