I came back to running in December 2006 after a long break, and have been well and truly bitten by the bug.
At first I was quite content to just schlep along, but in 2009 I started building up my distance and putting in a lot more effort with speedwork and I've been gradually getting faster. I'm never going to be a speedy gonzales but everyone likes a PB, don't they?
My challenge for 2010 was my first marathon. I thought at the time it might well be my last marathon as well, but I absolutely loved it.
I've now clocked up seven - Brighton, Beachy, Berlin, Loch Ness and VLM - and have started thinking about a serious attempt at bringing my PB down.
I'd also love to bag a sub-2 half and sub-50 10k. But most of all I want to keep on loving my running and getting in the post-race beers.
