Enaoslm Very early in my training for the London marathon - week 4. Hope I'm not asking too much of my ageing knees. Most important thing is the mileage not the time but I'll aim for 3 hours.
Great event; first 12 miles were relatively easy, but got harder and harder from there until an extremely difficult finish. Really pleased with my time though. Basingstoke & Mid Hants AC 2:15:55 2:43:00 3:00:00 2:43:00 56.24

Gobi Ran with MikeG/Lukestur/BR/MikeB and Padams for a bit
Progressive with 2 stage plan 10 in 65 then 10 in 61-63 - Achieved only blot was a bit of cramp(muscle spasm at 18 miles, quick stretch and all fine probably cost 10 seconds)

Me at Bramley - 2.05.52 on the watch

Very happy with the HR stats for 10 to 20 miles, max HR only hit 165.

Ran with Lukestur/MG/BR/MikeB/Padams (briefly) Very social during the early miles. Although the first 3 miles were a bit all over the place from there on we settled down. Mikeb(plus friend) and Padams slowly drifted ahead. BR also spent most of miles 5 to 10 just ahead of us.

All pretty straight forward for the first 10 so said my goodbyes to MG and put the foot down. Quick chat to BR who told me he would not tag on as he is NOT racing a marathon in 5 weeks.

10-12 miles around 12.24 miles 12-15 were in 18.10 a little quick but all good. Flew up the hill at 16 then through 17, then the only blot as just before 18 I got a muscle cramp in the left hammy. A quick stretch and still miles 15-18 in 18.30. Adopted a little caution for the last 2 miles.

Conclution is that deserved or not 2.44 looks quite a realistic target.

Hectors House I did this last year in 2:45 but will not have done enough training or got my fitness levels back enough to do that again this year.

Update: Obviously fitter than I thought! Ran well despite falling over at about mile 7. Lots of sore bits and holes in clothes but it was worth it. I was 3rd in our womens A Team and we won! Stubbington Green Runners 2:37:42 2:46:58 2:59:30 2:46:58 62.56

JonCPRC I ran the first loop too fast last year (1hr 22min at 10 mile point) and suffered for it at miles 16 - 18 on teh 2nd loop. I gave the race the respect it deserved this year and came in only 50 odd seconds slower than last years time. I ran a much better paced race and had enough left in me left to have completed another 6.2 miles, when last year I couldn't have run any further!

A cracking race and excellent preparation for this year's London Marathon. This race is a must for all types of marathoners looking to run at London in April :-) Chineham Park Running Club 2:44:29 2:58:55 3:15:00 2:58:55 51.89
Jonny First long run since early November & suffering from a cold. First 12 miles averaging around 8.25m/mile, the next 3 at about 8.40m/mile and then really started to tire averaging just under 10m/mile. Right knee pain lasted dor about a mile between 12.5 & 13.5 miles but then wore off, a bit painful afterwards. Reasonably happy & pretty confident that I can improve to around a 3.30 marathon in May. Unaffiliated 2:31:54 2:57:56 2:57:56 51.52

lennoxr Ran too fast early as the pace felt easy and paid for it in the end. Not such a problem over 20 but will pay dearly over 26. Must learn to be more disciplined with pace. Maidenhead AC 2:09:23 2:15:02 2:15:00 2:15:02 69.63

LukeStur Really enjoyable race - went out slightly faster than planned but felt really good.
Great to be running in a group with Gobi for the first lap (before he pushed on and showed me a clean pair of heels! - good to see you back on the way up, Gobi)
First 10M in a PB of 1:03:38!
Started running the beginning of the second lap with Holly and then picked up the pace a bit (in hindsight I think I picked it up too much)
First HM 1:23:10 (40 secs of a PB!)
Felt absolutely great until mile 16 and then just when I was feeling in need of an energy boost I realised that the gel I had been carrying was actually powder!
Soon after the wheels started falling off and all the runners I had just passed came flying by me. My pace dropped from between 6.11-6.25 for first 16miles to 6:39-6:50 for last 4 miles :-)
Pleased to be able to just about hang on enought to get under my target time of 2:10.
Wearing brand spanking new shoes wasn't such a great plan - blisters started from mile 8!
Well done to all the other fetchies who I met on route.
