That's annoying too Jacdaw but some people on the local trains put their bikes by the door and then just leave them. People who are forced to stand in this space then end up looking after other people's bikes. I rarely take my bike on the train now, but if I do, I stand by it and make sure I move it when people need to get off.
Demand for the trains has risen massively, so they've laid on trains with larger carriages which don't work as well for bikes. They need to remove some seats on each train so people can stack bikes.

The fact that the other day my chance to click on 'Fitness Singles' was taken away and replaced with opportunities for 'Mature Dating,' whilst today 'Fitness Singles' is back on my screen with 'Mature Dating' having been axed

BBC sensationalising stories again. Yes it must have been scary being trapped in a cable car in the Alps for many hours over night. But, NO BBC, the cable cars were not suspended thousands of feet ABOVE the highest mountains in the Alps. Yes the cable cars wee at an altitude of over 12,000 feet, but altitude is above sea level. The cable cars were some hundreds of feet above the ground. I do wish the BBC would stop over exaggerating (can you over exaggerate, or just exaggerate?) and give us the news as it is. This story is scary enough. It doesn't unnecessary embellishment.

Apple fanbois. Gloating about how the new Apple Watch is, apparently, going to put Garmin and Suunto out of business overnight (with, y'know, its worst-in-class GPS battery life and no support for bike speed/cadence sensors, never mind power meters, and hefty price tag). Why does the idea of Apple destroying other companies make you so happy? Can we go back to the days when Mac owners were the ones complaining about Microsoft's brutal market dominance?

Apple fanboys have more money than sense. I wouldn't touch their overpriced products with a shitty stick.

I'm just going to point out here that my comment was clearly aimed at obsessive Apple fans, not the products. Take that as you find it
