Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

My Facebook news feed being cluttered with things that people have Liked and Shared in the hope of getting free stuff. Especially when those things are alternative health industry shite, chavvy holiday destinations, and Nordic walking. C'mon. I can't block *all* of you. I've only just had a purge of all the dimwits who spammed my news feed with twee motivational messages. I'll have nobody left to stalk.

Maybe you can block the messages and not the senders?

Some of them, I can and have. Some don't seem to want their blocking click-box to be found.

V'rap, if you find such an offending item in your newsfeed you can go some way to hiding it. You need to be on a pc for this:

Top right of the item, you should see a downward pointing arrow \/
Click on that, then on "hide"
Hover over "change what updates you get from xyz"
Untick "comments and likes" (or anything else that irritates you)

It won't solve everything but it'll stop anything of that type from that specific friend being shown in your feed.

One of my FB friends is gay and keeps liking photos of "Rough Muscle". I wish he'd stop.

Awesome. Now I just need to find a way to stop my friend reporting everything her child says and does. She needs to be deleted. I don't mean from my friends list, she needs to be deleted from the planet.

Teach the child how to hide everything from her mother? And delete the "friend" from your FB as a start....

On the topic if Facebook, there used to be ONE setting where you set that you didn't want to see your friends' new friends. For some cocking bollocking annoying reason this setting no longer seems to work carte blanche like a happy smothering Facebook friends blanket & you have to deal with each & every Facebook friend that makes new friends on a one-by-one basis. Now THAT'S annoying.
