Although those, er, fellow human beings are exhibiting their genitalia on prime time TV, confidentiality regulations mean that their GPs can't go to the meedja and say, "Actually, I DID NOT fob him off for years, the reason I put him off my practice list was that he spat at the receptionist, not because he was too much of a medical mystery for me to cope with, and the rash you miraculously cured was actually self-inflicted by him stubbing out cigarettes on his own arse."

They seem to get private treatment to cure their ailments - which does make me wonder why they haven't been seeing their GPs. I imagine there's a lot more to it than meets the eye.

I've yet to work out how someone can be "too embarrassed" to seek confidential medical help for something, yet willing to display it to a million strangers on tv.
