Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Is that an Android glitch or a bug in Instagram and the like - I'd suggest the latter (he says - splitting hairs ;) )

I saw Sean Hughes (once popular Irish comic) live once and he had a small section about 'spitting hairs', i.e. why do we call it that? It was excruciatingly embarrassing, as every member of the audience knew it was 'splitting' and not 'spitting'. Only the bloke on stage didn't.

Not quite as excruciating as when he recited his deathless, non-comic poetry a few minutes later.

Ad hominem attacks on large groups of people. If you can dismiss 42.4% of the voting population as 'arsewipes' or 'fucking wankers' you perhaps ought to consider your position. Bigoted and offensive attitude, IMHO. Come at me.

Sean Hughes? Yes, I agree. I was quite close to the front as well.

Well I wasn't talking about the voting population. I was talking about the politicians.

I once saw Jasper Carrot tailoring his routine to include a joke about the Croydon ring road. Croydon doesn't have a ring road. No one laughed and he looked at us as if it was our fault. Apart from geographical changes his routine was 100% scripted, even the "ad-libs"
