New car so the automated payment I had set up on the old car obviously wasn't going to work. We knew about the charges and how to pay and they were still very lenient about it.

I know they don't set up a new car on the automated system until they have seen a copy of the new log book (which reminds me that I need to do that!). The woman in the article claimed not have known about the toll and had not seen any signage. We all know that this isn't true irrespective of whether Dart Charge have offered to cancel the debt or not. It's amazing that the cost of the QE Bridge had been fully paid for by motorists and that the toll would cease some years ago. Even though the tolls go back into the Highways Agency pot it would be nice if they didn't keep increasing the charge. I still remember the £1 toll shortly after the bridge opened.
