Triplet Dad
Unfortunately I'm out. I had some breathing difficulties and wooziness half way through a club run three weeks ago which seems to have been the beginnings of a bug/virus which has drained me of all energy.
I've been to see my GP and nothing major is wrong and I'm still functioning fine on a day to day basis, going to work each day, cycling with family at the weekends, etc. but running just seems to take too much out of me at the moment.
Having had a complete break from running for a couple of weeks I went out for 3 miles last night during which I felt much improved but 3 miles was enough for me and there's no way I'm getting around 26 at the weekend.
I hope you all have a great time and I'll watch out for you all on the telly on Sunday

Sorry to hear that you are out, TD, but it's good that nothing major is wrong and that you have more sense than to try to struggle through. Hopefully you will be back to 100% soon.

Someone at work asked me a question I didn't know the answer to: are the mass starts seeded in any way?
I know my Green start is ranked according to the time I qualified with (off 3:16, I'm in zone 2), and I'd think that the fast GFA on the Red is the same, but what about the hoi polloi? Do you have to provide a guestimated finish if you entered via the ballot or charity?

Rascal
Rascal 6:16pm, 23 Apr 2016 First-time poster!! Hello all. Just to say I have had to defer my ferc place at vlm until next year. I have waited until last minute but am riddled with injury. Consultant pulled the plug on it yesterday and booked me in for hernia surgery next week. I have been running on tramadol but no way over 26 miles. I am gutted and had a big sob this morning due to a combination of disappointment, frustration and obvious pain. I had a great injury free running last year. This year a disaster. But I wish all the fetch runners and supporters all the very best tomorrow. I will regroup and recover ready to train in the autumn for vlm 2017. Viva la Fetch

There was a runner dressed as a beer bottle just beside me at one point, I think he was going for a record, but I heard the words that noone wants to hear:
"Ooh look, there's another beer bottle"
