Unfortunately, I missed his name, but there was a Tory M.P. on Radio 4 this morning basically saying the vast majority of voters were thick & didn't understand politics.
It would seem that they have been decimated at the local elections, but he was still trying to convince the BBC reporter, that it was a victory for the Tories. What planet do these people live on!!!
I know I will be shunted off to cloud cuckoo land for this next statement, but wouldn't it be nice if politicians told the truth for once, treated everybody with respect & showed a bit of humility.
Yes, I know, not in my lifetime.

In the batshit world that's politics.
Declining Northern Industrial, high-unemployed, low opportunity Grimsby has returned a Conservative council, despite the Tories fucking up their beloved Brexit.
Bend over and grit your teeth, Grimsby, because if you think you've been shat on thus far, you ain't seen nothing yet...
Actually, to be honest, it's all because of a single roundabout that's being replaced with traffic lights!

Looking like all main parties down except Lib Dem’s with tories predictably doing quite badly. Still, if they can sort out the roundabout better than anyone else in Grimsby, it’s not all bad news for them!

I may only be a thick voter but I realise 52 is a larger number than 48, which is more than can be said for most MPs

Tories are the party of traffic control round here.
The original plan, which the Tories have said they'll reject, is to replace the roundabout on Grimsby's one road that goes anywhere good with traffic lights.
They've also promised something about bins. We have flimsy plastic boxes here and high winds, so on recycling day shit gets blown about. Arseholes therefore claim that's the reason they won't put their recyclable shit anywhere other than their mixed non-recyclables bin, which then fills up with beer cans. The Labour council decided to improve recycling rates by not collecting bins every week in the hope that folk would recycle more once the bins are full, but they don't.
The correct answer now is to replace the boxes with bins, or ideally a single bin for mixed-line recycling as is done ins all our neighbouring authorities. The Tories, however, reckon they'll bring back weekly bin collections and that will encourage recycling, rather than people flinging even more shit in their bins.

I can see, though, that 17.4 million is much *smaller* than half of 46,148,000, though, and even smaller still than half of 66.04 million.
Which is more than can be said most quitlings.
