Simbil - I usuall watch it for a bit. TMW - that's good news. The Greens are excellent especially on a local level. |

Someone the other day asked about Climate Extinction changing people's minds. For those set in their ways/the hard right who just don't care about their impact on the world, no it won't change any minds. What it will do (and already has done) is raise the profile significantly, which is half the battle - it will make sure that people who do care about Climate Change, but (a) don't realise how serious it is and (b) don't know what they can do about it (including politically). There's been significant coverage in the media over the last month and it genuinely does seem that the coverage has approached things in a positive/realistic manner. I realise that Brexit has sucked a lot of oxygen from everything, but Climate Change is such a *big* issue and the solutions cannot be condensed into easy soundbytes, and is a problem that is going to be long-term, that it gets in a lower priority pile. Climate Extincton has moved the issue up a few levels. |

I wouldn’t wish my previous post interpreted as a vote for the Greens, although in my ward they have held all 3 seats for approx 10 years building up from 1 seat to gain a good base of support through campaigning and local casework, and do seem to be good at holding the terrible Labour council to account. This will be the last local election I vote in living in this town, when I move to London I believe I will have a Labour MP and councillors, although the borough is seen as Tory area I will be moving to the Labour bit of it. |

Talking nonsense as ever TMW. These elections certainly are not meaningless. They affect people's day-to-day lives. |

Meaningful on a micro level, on a macro level it means sod all, which is why so few people vote in them, as you remarked a few posts ago hun
