Good luck with getting a decent deal Night Owl. Joining fees are a gym con, they don't have to charge you that. Which gyms are you looking at?
Apparently the new indoor rowing season starts tomorrow, so all yearly rowing totals are re-zeroed.

Today's session will be: 5 x 500m / 2 min recoveries.

Now that I've written it here I HAVE to do it! Will take me around 20 mins in my current state of "fitness".

Good stuff. Split times?

I did a steady 25 minutes this morning. Working my way through the beginners' Pete Plan, on week 11. It's starting to get serious ...

Splits...dunno! it's an old model C with an old monitor. 4147m in 20 mins, with the 500s at around 2:15ish. That's hard for me these days but slower than my average split for my 5000m PB. Recoveries super slow.

Average split 2:24.6 over the 20 mins. I'll take that. I'd like to beat my 5000m PB this year, got to start somewhere.

Got 15000m over 3 rows this week so far, another 36 minutes on Saturday. Slow build up to 30,000, then marathon training starts.

It'll be Bannatynes unfortunately its nearby. Other gyms are available but its getting to them. Least they have several machines. Have rejoined them a couple of times and hadn't had to pay any fees Don't have to do the old year contract either justhave to do the old month or two notice

It's all good Sally. I did my 25 minutes at just under 2:10 at UT1 heart rate. I'd love to break 20 minutes for 5K but it's a long shot.

Cap'n: which marathon plan are you going to use?

Have to say that my Model D 10 years ago was one of my best-ever purchases. Paid for itself in terms of gym membership many times over.
