Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hi Joe, sorry for delay in responding. Thanks for posting. Just wanted a general heads up. Must be a good one if you've run it so many times : )

Good quality riverside path, generally flat narrow in some parts but I've never had any issues. Out and back so you get to see everyone after the switch back.
Dave and Melanie Ross who organise it and the other Hermes races have run over 500 marathons between them so know what is needed.

There are enough aid stations but if it is really hot and you likely to be out awhile a camelbak might be an idea

It's a very well organised event as far as out-and-back courses go. I've run it four times myself. The path is shared by pedestrians but is not too busy. There is usually a few more people around when you get to Putney (half-way) and Richmond when on the way back.

Probably doing the hal - I've done one of theirs before. No issues with their organisation. Support on the course is low key, but more than sufficient. Have no hesitation in recommending the half. Not sure I would do the marathon but that's just the because route wouldn't excite me that much.
