Hi there I am after a running watch. Don't want anything fancy (eg GPS). Don't want anything that needs re-charging. Just a watch. What I do want is something that (a) shows me the lap that I'm on (eg "1"), (b) shows me split times; and (c) allows me to recall split times post run. Ideally, I'd also like an easy to read display. Any suggestions please? Tim |

Naive question, how does the watch know without GPS that it has done a lap? Manually pressing a button? What would be the problem with GPS?

After years and years and years of running on a treadmill in a gym 'cave', any outdoors running is magical. On long runs, I tend to do loops of a beautiful local lake rich with wildlife. So, simple to keep track of laps. |

This. Sixty lap memory. I liked it so much I bought it twice (mislaid the first one). The only thing is, you might find the display a bit dinky (though I can read it ok without glasses). After seeing mine, my mate also bought one. argos.co.uk |

Bought a blue Casio 60 lap memory/recall sports watch from Argos (different from the one that the previous poster purchased). It offers way more functionality than Timex Ironman, but was only £19.99. Fantastic.

I use COUNTU Goal as my running lap counter and timer. It’s finger ring device and fairly easy to use. COUNTU Goal has a very useful function, lap/time vibrate alarm function. Would recommend.

Not sure whether that's spam or not, but actually that product looks like something that might be actually quite useful to a runner if it's comfortable. Can't see it available in the UK though.
