Pretty sure the grandson(s) have both been moved around a lot in a Nipper Sport (sequentially - not at the same time!). It's been good and has done a good job as a workhorse as well as a running buggy. I don't think it's a cheap option, but seems to be consistently recommended as a good one! (Sort of like a Volvo of running buggies?)
Their parents now need to invest in the twin version for early next year!

It's that long ago now that I can't remember what model we had - possibly even 'Baby Jogger', but I don't think they continue with similar models now.
It looked similar to the Out n About Sport version, in that it had a big front wheel, compared to a lot that seem to have relatively small wheels.
Although this was fixed it gave it stability and was very good off-road. We used it in woods, on beaches, grass and gravel.
(We got ours from ebay or similar - if it's going to be bumped around like ours was then it only stays new once..!)

The fixed front wheel is the key for stability. The models with smaller front wheels that rotate independently normally have a means to lock them in place. I wouldn't want to run with a buggy without a front wheel that won't budge.

I used a baby jogger anniversary edition - they had massive wheels, but it was really easy to manoeuvre, both on and off-road. It's still have it in the garage actually, I might try to sell it on eBay...

We have been using and still are using the Thule Urban Glide 2. It's done many a mile both on paths, trails and even the odd field/beach and we've never had a problem with it. It's got a locking front wheel for if you want a bit more stability, a loop to wrap around your wrist for security, a hand brake, foot brake, 5 point harness, adjustable handlebar, loads of storage space and has a good range of adjustment as they grow. Our daughter is 19 months ols and still has plenty of growing room. It folds right down and fits in the boot of the sister in laws Ford Ka.
The only dowsides are the price and the width as it can be wider than some single doors. It will easily last us until we no longer need it so I would imagine there are a few second hand ones around in good condition.

The nipper arrived at the end of last week, done a couple of walks with it and it was so much better than our everyday buggy. Another upside my LB fell asleep really really quickly in it. Will need to try a run and see how it goes. Will be weird running with it.
The nipper is one of the cheaper options, the others were too expensive for us.
