I can get the stopwatch data on to my Mac and it's in the right format and looks like it will be fine to upload to parkrun results pages. The barcode scanner data comes up in the wrong date/time format and with a code 128 in the middle of it.
Does anyone have a quick (or slow but permanent) fix for this? Last time we had to put it into excel and fiddle it around...

You mean to tell me that a Mac doesn't "just work"?
Surely the quick fix is to use the computer that parkrun supply? I realise it's not ideal.

We don't have a parkrun supplied laptop...

I think you need to be contacting event support. Its one of the things that the startup funds go to pay for.
Has the previous ED run off with it? Or was there never one? Ours is only a little netbook, but it does the job.

I'd happily use it if we had one, but we don't. Our current ED (fetch) has just emailed support to see if we can have one, it would make life much easier.

RJH Tech Consultancy have stopwatch conversion software for IOS. Never used it so can't actually recommend. Their website says that parkrun have a licence that is free at point of use.

Thanks Dochart. We have cracked the stopwatch part of it; and we can even get data from the scanners - but it then needs to go through the mangle in Excel to get it into the right format. And although that's the sort of thing I can do, it's not especially fair or encouraging for any other RD's.
Investigations continue - we are trying to establish whether our original ED had a laptop; and like Katie says, we've also contacted parkrun HQ to see if they can find one for us.

My one moment of triumph was getting the stopwatch data on to my Mac.

As DeeGee says, your parkrun should (certainly would, IMO) have had a parkrun supplied laptop. Have your previous RDs all had to load and process the data onto their own laptops until now??
