Although I am still WFH I am expecting a return to the office next month but really don't want to return to sandwiches every day! In the past sandwich boredom has lead to a quick trip to Tesco which never ended well! (I need to avoid this as need to lose weight not re-gain it!)
So I thought I would start thinking ahead so that I can have a shopping list for the weekend.
Questions I have ....
What's in your pack-up?
How long do things like boiled eggs or salad, cut raw veg last in the fridge do you just put in a Tupperware box or what?!
Do you "batch" your lunch box prep or freeze things if so what works best?

I am a huge sandwich fan, and I make my own the night before when I'm going in to the office. I'm eating a bit of my lunch right now. If you are taking a salad I recommend taking any dressing separately to add at the time of eating to prevent it going soggy.
Very occasionally, I will take something like orzo pasta salad with bits in (contents very depending on what's in fridge - cherry tomato, olives, peppers, bit of creme fraiche, maybe).
Also, I think (rather like McG's blog today, there is very much a north/south divide here on the terminology. I have never heard the expression "pack-up" used in the south.

I think part of my sandwich issue is that I don't like butter/spread so they don't stick together! I always had a packed lunch but when teaching (midlands) the kids always referred to a pack-up .... thought I was being more trendy LOL!

As you do not like butter or spread why not try sandwich spread or salad cream then add filling?

We use tortilla wraps instead of bread quite often, fillings can then be quite chunky - eg left over chilli or curry works well.
Does the office have a microwave? We have a freezer full of left over food. It's portioned up in separate tubs that we've saved from takeaways. I take them out the night before to start to defrost, then use the microwave to reheat. Homemade meals, even leftovers, beat a dull sandwich..!

As a northerner, I've never heard "pack-up", except for packing up to go home Must be a murky midlander thing...
I can't be much help here, but will watch with interest. Lunches can often trigger food issues for me, including full lunch breaks walking in and out of shops being unable to bring myself to pick anything up.
Not a big sandwich fan, although my housemate makes amazing butties - but they don't travel well and rarely look appetising come lunchtime.
Boots meal deals tend to be my general destination when I'm able to, but I find variety causes the least hassles. Being in a large city helps, as there are many food outlets, but it's not cheap.
