Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

So if the distances of the current import and the previously-saved route don't match, what does it do? Alter the distance of the run you're importing now?

Yes, I think so, but you can always change it back manually

I actually knew that I could assign a historical route to a new Garmin-measured route; and I've done it. But that doesn't seem to meet the desire I think I have.

I suppose I really want the computer to do the work. After all, it does all the arithmetic on my training for me.

If I delete some of the routes that I have saved/imported from my Garmin will that affect the training that I have logged on that route?

No, but I suggest you try it. I suppose the route will change from "Imported from Garmin on" to "no route assigned" or some such.

May I also compliment you on a very clever name?

Yes it does change the distance, but it's only tiny, and is usually within the error of the gps anyway.

Why should it change the distance?

Chris, if you change the route from the imported data to an existing route then the length of run is changed to match the chosen route... so for example, if you import a route from your Garmin and it is 5.54miles but thenyou choose Route X, which is 5.55miles, then the training distance becomes 5.55miles for this latest training event. As southcoastclaret says the difference in distance, if any, will be due to GPS error (assuming you actually ran the same route!).

I think you can manually change it back again - I find there can be differences between my pre-measured routes and the the GPS once I've run it.

yes, if you assign a new route, it will change the distance.
