Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I was planning to drive all the way down from darkest Yorkshire to park somewhere like Watford Junction for around about 7am and get the underground into London and then on to the South Bank to watch the first half of the marathon.

Can anyone help me with some advice about whether the above is do-able, or if there is anywhere else close to the M1 that would be a good place to park and travel in from.

I was hoping to get a family travel card but I think Watford is outside zone 6?

Does anyone know how much it would be for 2 adults 2 kids for a day pass from Watford?

Any help or suggestions gratefully received.

Can't answer the details (although Yokshire o London for 7am sounds scary...) but this is a good website for journey planning on public transport...

Minnie, go for Luton Airport parkway - 5 mins from J10 of the M1. From there you can get the train straight to Blackfriars (on the course at Mile 24) or if you are earlier, London Bridge - 5 min walk to Tower bridge for mile 12 and then across London Bridge for mile 23

Train is about 40 mins from Luton

Good luck - it will be a long day out!

Do have a look at the TFL and national rail enquires websites for the whole of your journey , as there may very well be engineering works on either national rail or the underground...

I realise it will involve a bit of forward planning , but have a couple of options up your sleeve in case your plan goes tits up..

Yes definitely check TFL - not worth the risk I live not far from the start - engineering works close most of lines (in parts) every weekend.

Or you could look at the VLM 2013 page on the TFL site tfl.gov.uk
