A sprinter come bobsleigh come TV gladiator, doesn't sound like a ringer to me. Then again, a professional dancer and teacher (not just someone who danced in their youth) actually got the public backing to reach last year's final. |

I wasn't implying Montell was any of those things, Surrey Phil. She's just unlucky.

And lest we forget it all all comes down to very small numbers. This week with seven contestants the show's results are then given points of 1 up to the max of 7 for someone topping the leader board - usual thing if two are same 'big' number they both score the same small number. The huge public vote also boils down to 1 point to 7 points and then they're added together. We all know this but it pays to remember it! |

Also -last thing - I am always hugely amused and amazed by those who yell 'Fix!' (The moronic conspiracy theory types) For instance this week why on EARTH would the Beeb want podcaster and TOWIE Pete to go through rather than an Eastender (BBC 1) or a Gladiator (BBC 1)

"Fix" theories make no sense. And someone would have whistle-blown by now, and I can't see how the BBC would risk *everything*. There is an elephant in the room here. Not for one minute do I think that all Strictly viewers have a problem with strong black women contestants. But as long as a decent chunk of them do, you end up with situations like Montell, Alexandra, Natalie Gumede finding themselves in more dance-offs than they should. But then again - I think this is a dancing competition. If other people want to vote on popularity, or journey, football team loyalty or anything else - fine, that's up to them. But I guess that's another reason 'strange' results can happen. Relatedly - right now Chris is an overwhelming bookies favourite. To me this is like giving Olympic gold to someone who finishes the 100m in 12 seconds, having never run before. Very impressive, but he's not the best dancer. |

Raffo and I have wondered that paul the builder Natalie Gumede was our fave rave that year imo the best dancer by far and robbed. She also got 'she's a ringer' complaints. Think Abbey Clancy won that year. Countering the Some Strictly Viewers v. strong black women argument Oti Mabuse was a real favourite and won twice. We've also had at least three black winners ... all blokes though. |

I think *if* Chris ends up in the bottom two he will go, as I can't see the judges picking him as a dancer over anyone (except possibly Pete).

Colin Jackson lost to Darren Gough but I think it was because of the rubbish show dance he did with Erin. Colin Jackson best dancer overall
