Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Guardian, Ha! At leats they have a Conservative Govt to rail at. You should see the trolls lurking below the line in The Telegraph! Makes me laugh that there are so many people expending so much pent up anger.

On the other hand, it must be a very sad life to be so angry with the world that you just hate everything and everyone.

I find comments in the Telegraph to be worse than in the Guardian, hard though that is to imagine.

Beautifully written piece, Iron Mum. I'm interested from the publishing point of view and from the women in business perspective. Fascinating. Might run into you at the Book Fair :-)

I have a friend who writes sometimes for the Guardian Running blog and, when she first got the gig I said, "Don't read the comments"

I wonder if reading the comments makes you angry so then you comment and others get angry and post angry comments and before you know it you're in the pit of disgust which constitutes the comments?

Interesting well written article IM :)

Wondering how many other topics give the same result, maths? Environment, politics? Would be surprised if any came out with a female bias.
